(East Palestine, OH) – On February 3rd, a train carrying toxic chemicals derailed and was set ablaze in the small town of East Palestine, Ohio. Since the derailment, residents of the town have complained of headaches and feeling sick as fears about the long-term effects of the derailment have mounted.
The federal response to the derailment has been a national embarrassment. President Joe Biden chose to go to Ukraine rather than visit East Palestine and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg avoided visiting the area until after former President Donald Trump came. President Trump delivered truckloads of water to area residents and fed first responders.
